Many of you are already familiar with JimiIoT devices (formerly known as Concox) on the GPS-Trace platform — and our cooperation with this manufacturer continues.
Their trackers are among the most popular on our platform — for example, GT06N still holds the title of the most connected JimiIoT tracker on GPS-Trace.
There are several reasons why JimiIoT (Concox) trackers have become so popular, especially among owners of cars, motorcycles, scooters, and other types of transport:
1. Wide product line
JimiIoT offers solutions for any needs — from simple Plug & Play and autonomous models to real-time video monitoring systems.
You will find:
2. Easy connection and setup
Concox trackers are easy to install.
Many models work on a Plug & Play principle — just plug the device into a cigarette lighter or an OBD port and it’s ready to go.
Such trackers are ideal for small fleets and personal use.
3. Price and availability
JimiIoT offers a wide range of devices with excellent functionality at an affordable price.
They are also easy to purchase on popular marketplaces — AliExpress, Alibaba, and others.
4. Stable performance and support
Despite the affordable price, JimiIoT ensures stable connectivity and regular firmware updates.
The manufacturer actively supports customers and keeps technical documentation up to date.
This time we’d like to highlight Concox VL501 — a Plug & Play device that easily connects to the GPS-Trace platform and to a vehicle.

Tracker specifications
JimiIoT VL501 is a compact tracker with GNSS, LTE, and Bluetooth support that connects via a cigarette lighter socket.
Key features:
Connecting VL501 to the GPS-Trace platform
You can easily set up the Concox VL501 to work with the GPS-Trace platform in just a few minutes using the Ruhavik app.
Or, if you prefer full assistance, you can contact one of our dealers — they will help you choose the right equipment, create an account and unit, configure and connect the tracker, and get everything ready for use quickly.
Step 1. Install the app
Download the Ruhavik app and create an account and unit:
Step 2. Configure the tracker via SMS
To start sending data, send commands to the SIM card number inserted into the device.
Follow the exact syntax:
Main SMS commands
| Action | Command | Description / Notes |
|---|---|---|
| APN setup | APN,APN's Name# |
Sets the APN (Access Point Name) for the mobile operator. |
| APN with login and password | APN,APN name,user name,password# |
Use if a username and password are required for the connection. |
| IP setup | SERVER,0,IP,Port,0# |
Sets the server IP address and port for data transmission. |
| Data sending intervals | TIMER,T1,T2# |
T1 — interval when ACC is ON (5–18000 s, default 20 s). T2 — interval when ACC is OFF (5–18000 s, default 20 s). |
| Check parameters | PARAM# |
Returns a list of main tracker settings (APN, IP, sending interval, etc.). |
| Check status | STATUS# |
Shows the current device state — signal level, power, GPS, etc. |
| Factory reset | FACTORY# |
Restores all device parameters to factory defaults. |
| Reboot device | RESET# |
Restarts the device 20 seconds after receiving the command. |
Step 3. SOS button and notifications
The VL501 tracker is equipped with an SOS button, allowing you to receive notifications about its activation on your phone or in the app.
During testing we received notifications for:
SOS tracker settings
| Action | Command | Description / Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Enable alarm | SOSALM,A,M# |
Enables or configures the SOS alarm. A — ON/OFF M — notification method: 0 — GPRS 1 — SMS + GPRS 2 — GPRS + SMS + call (default) 3 — GPRS + call |
| Disable alarm | SOSALM,OFF# |
Completely disables the SOS alarm. |
| Check alarm parameters | SOSALM# |
Displays current SOS alarm settings. |
| Add phone numbers | SOS,A,number1,number2,number3# |
Adds up to three phone numbers for SOS calls. |
| Delete a number | SOS,D,number# |
Removes the specified phone number from the SOS list. |
| Check numbers | SOS# |
Shows saved phone numbers for SOS calls. |
Step 4. Configure notifications in the app
In the app, you can configure notifications for any events sent by the tracker. For example, when the SOS button is pressed, the device sends alarm.code = 1 and alarm.event = true. Thus, to set up an SOS alert, it’s enough to configure a simple alarm notification (including push, Telegram, webhook, or email).
Step 5. Final
After configuration, place the tracker in an open area and wait a few minutes for it to acquire a GPS signal. It’s best to walk or drive with the device in an open space.
Once the tracker connects to satellites, data will appear in your account and you will be able to see the object’s movement on the map, as well as view routes, speed, trip time, and much more — all in one convenient GPS-Trace interface.
Now your tracker is ready to go — start tracking and enjoy your GPS-Trace experience!
The partnership between GPS-Trace and JimiIoT is an example of how the combination of hardware and platform creates a comprehensive monitoring solution. Users get stable performance, simple setup, and confidence in the security of their assets.
